Your Gateway to the Kingdom

Saudi opportunity, guided with clarity

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is expanding private-sector participation and creating opportunities across technology, logistics, tourism, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, professional services, e-commerce, and real estate. The right entry route depends on your nationality, ownership structure, chosen activity, existing overseas company, and regulatory approvals.

Can you establish from outside Saudi Arabia?

Many stages can be coordinated electronically. Foreign documents may need authentication through the Saudi mission in the country of each partner, and some banking, residency, regulated-activity, or operational steps may require additional verification or presence.

Legal Structures

Company types available in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Companies Law recognizes five principal company forms. A foreign branch and professional-company routes can also be relevant depending on the investor and activity.

Most common for SMEs

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

One or more shareholders may establish an LLC. Liability is generally limited to each shareholder’s contribution, making it a common structure for operating businesses and foreign investment projects.

Growth & investment

Simplified Joint Stock Company (SJSC)

A flexible share-based structure designed for entrepreneurship, venture capital, family investment vehicles, and businesses that want adaptable governance and equity arrangements.

Larger enterprises

Joint Stock Company (JSC)

Capital is divided into tradable shares and shareholder liability is limited to subscribed shares. Suitable for larger projects and organizations requiring formal governance.

Partner-led

General Partnership

Two or more partners conduct business together and generally carry personal responsibility for the partnership’s debts and obligations. Careful legal advice is essential.

Two partner classes

Limited Partnership

Combines general partners with unlimited responsibility and limited partners whose exposure is generally restricted to their capital contribution.

Existing foreign company

Foreign Company Branch

An overseas company may open a Saudi branch for approved activities. The parent company remains connected to the branch’s obligations and must supply authenticated corporate documents.

Licensed professions

Professional Company

Licensed professionals may operate through permitted company forms, subject to professional-regulator rules, ownership conditions, and activity-specific approvals.

Status-dependent

Individual / Establishment Route

Availability depends on Saudi, GCC, Premium Residency, or other eligible status. Foreign investors should confirm whether an investment-registration route is required.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can foreigners own 100% of a Saudi company?

Many permitted activities can be conducted with full foreign ownership, while some activities have restrictions or local-partner conditions. Eligibility must be confirmed for the exact activity and investor profile.

Do I need to travel to Saudi Arabia to start?

Initial consultation, planning, document preparation, and many government procedures can be coordinated remotely. Authentication, banking, residency, identity checks, or specific regulators may require additional steps or physical presence.

Is a Saudi partner always required?

No. MISA states that this depends on the selected activity: some activities require a local partner and others may be conducted without one.

How long will the formation take?

Timing depends on activity eligibility, document authentication, investor registration, partner approvals, sector licenses, and bank or operational requirements. We provide a tailored sequence after reviewing your case rather than promising a misleading universal timeline.

Can AIMNAF guarantee approval or a bank account?

No private consultancy can guarantee a government or bank decision. We coordinate preparation, submissions, and follow-up, while the relevant authority or institution makes the final decision.

Does AIMNAF provide legal or tax advice?

We provide formation coordination and business consultancy. Where reserved legal, tax, immigration, or regulated professional advice is needed, appropriately licensed specialists should be engaged.
